The first thing you should understand is that it is not going to be easy. You are learning new languages after all.
There is a significant amount of technical jargon that is defined in terms of other unfamiliar bits of more technical jargon. Don’t let that discourage you.
One of the amazing things about learning how to code is that you literally have access to every resource that you could possibly need to get learning. The internet is filled of resources, you just need to know where to look for them.
Here are some resources that will get you learning:
Speak to Developers – As a recruiter I speak to Developers on a daily basis covering a vast range of tech stacks and they are always happy to educate me on different technologies and how they work! Thanks to all of you for educating me over the past couple of years.
Code.org – This initiative backed by Silicon Valley heavyweights like Facebook, Google and Apple offers a number of excellent free beginner’s tutorials for learning how to code.
Who knows, you may discover that coding is something you really enjoy and you may actually want to become a Developer.
Here at SGP we are all utilising online resources to learn basic coding. We believe that as we recruit in the tech and digital world we should attempt to have an understanding of what goes on and how it all works.
